Bible
says, “Believe and you shall receive.” What is belief ? Belief is something you
are certain about. If you believe that turning the key in one direction opens
the lock, it will. A lot of research is happening on the power of belief.
Scientists and Doctors are beginning to agree that if a short person believes
with all his heart that he is going to grow tall, his DNAs begin to change and
he begins growing.
How
can we harness the power of belief? First we will have to check what our
beliefs are? Are the beliefs helping you or harming you? We will be surprised
to know that most of the beliefs are not even our beliefs. They are the
references of our parents, teachers, friends, relatives and even the media.
They make us believe whatever they want. Suppose, you fared badly in an exam
and the teacher used harsh words against you. You may carry that belief
lifelong that you are not good or not intelligent. If you have any such beliefs
just delete them. Bring them into your consciousness and imagine deleting them
into the recycle-bin.

One of my Commanding Officers once
asked me, “How can you convert a liter of black paint into white ?"
When I couldn't answer he replied," Add thousands of liters of white paint till the time the black disappears." He further said," Manish, same is with our beliefs. We are not saints who will not have negative beliefs. The trick is to fill your mind with so many positive beliefs that the negative becomes powerless and negligible." |
Almost
everything boils down to belief. If you believe that you are smart, you will be
smart. If you believe that you are intelligent, you will be intelligent. If you
believe that you will be rich, you will be rich. If you believe that you will
never fall sick and remain young forever, you will. If you believe that your
relationship will work out, it always will.
There
are three ways of inculcating positive beliefs. First is the age old “Mirror
Method.” Stand in front of a mirror, look yourself in the eyes and repeat aloud
whatever you want to believe. “I am enthusiastic / I am excited/ I am healthy/
I am happy.” The second method is to write it down in first person, second
person and third person. “I, Manish am very happy. You, Manish is very happy.
He, Manish is very happy.” When you write down something your
psycho-neuro-muscular mechanism gets activated. Your psyche, your intellect,
your neurons and your muscles begins to accept your belief and the message
boils down to cellular level.
The
third method is called IVR. Idealize, Visualize and Realize. Imagine your ideal
belief. Suppose you want to believe that you are fit. Imagine having a perfect
body. Now Visualize performing at your fitness level, whether it is running or
playing some sport. Play it like a movie in your mind. Use all your senses.
Imagine the flow of air in your nostrils or the rhythm of your steps when you
are running. Once you Idealize and Visualize you will Realize your belief.
You
will have to keep the four enemies of belief away. They are anxiety, worry,
fear and doubt. Doubts create worry which causes anxiety and it turns into
fear. If you have seen the wire-walker, he has firm belief in his abilities. He
is never worried, anxious or afraid. Live your life like a wire-walker with
firm belief in your abilities. Set your eyes on your goal without bothering to
listen to what others are saying. Take this 10 Days Challenge. For 10 days do
not entertain these four enemies : doubts, anxiety, worry and fear for more
than 30 seconds. As soon as you notice them shoot them down in your mind and
replace them with a positive thought.
I
am sure with these methods you will be able to sow the seeds of positive
beliefs in your mind in all the areas of life viz: health, wealth, love,
happiness and reap unlimited benefits.
